GOKASH PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS “MAN I SHOULDA PUT
A RING ON IT!” OPENING AT WILMINGTON’S GRAND OPERA
HOUSE ON SATURDAY MAY 30, 2009 FOR 1-NIGHT ONLY
Philadelphia, PA- (May 26,
2009) Earlier this month The Downtown Urban Theater
Festival in New York City showcased “VI DEGREES”
a stage play written and directed by Philadelphia
native Kash Goins. “VI DEGREES” received the honor
of BEST PLAY at the DUTF 2009 showcase.
“VI DEGREES” looks at the lifestyles
of colorful characters who engage in unprotected
sex, prostitution, living on the “down low”, adultery
and how each may contribute to the high rates
of HIV/AIDS.
The DUTF 2009 showcases twelve
new works by playwrights from across the country.
Over two weeks, this multicultural, cross section
of artists based in Chicago, New Jersey, Delaware,
New York and San Francisco presented original
works of urban life on topics such as the imperfection
of our leaders, stereotypes, hate crimes, living
on the “DL” and self-immolation. DUTF is an annual
celebration of urban theatrical expression that
has been a catalyst and an outlet for some of
the nation’s most vibrant and creative playwrights
and has presented 64 original theatrical works
for more than 7,000 theatre-goers.

“MAN I SHOULDA PUT A RING ON IT!” takes a look

only on May 30 “MAN I SHOULDA PUT A RING ON IT!”
can be seen at the Wilmington Grand Opera House.
Kash Goins hopes that this stage play will encourage
viewers to find and embrace self love, which subsequently
will help reduce the number of victims of intimate
partner violence.
