on It!” will premier at the spacious and luxurious
Grand Opera House in Downtown Wilmington on 5/30/09

“Man, I Shoulda Put a Ring
On It!” is the latest in a succession of social
awareness stage productions by Kash Goins. In
his most recent work “VI Degrees” he tackled the
subject of AIDS / HIV and its prevalence and exposure
in the African American community. The play was
a powerful call to action and motivated audience
members to seek additional resources for testing
and treatment of the disease. “VI Degrees” will
be presented again as part of the Downtown Urban
Theatre Festival in New York City also in May
’09.
Previously, Mr. Goins was a
member of Sharon Baptist Church and led the Drama
Ministry for seven years. During that time, he
wrote “The Pastor and His Sign” which confronted
the current epidemic of youth gun violence in
Philadelphia and the “stop snitching” culture.
“The Pastor and His Sign” gained vast acclaim
in television and print news media and was presented
to Philadelphia City Council via the efforts of
Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell. In attendance were
mayor John Street, Council President Anna Verna,
and Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson.
“Man, I Shoulda Put a
Ring on It” is Mr. Goins second production under
the umbrella of his new theatre company GoKash Productions.
After the initial presentation in Wilmington, plans
are in the works to then stage it in Philadelphia
and beyond.
